Legislation Committee

Purpose

The Legislation Committee is appointed annually by the President. Its duties include:

  • Monitoring legislative and regulatory activity that may affect real estate mortgage lending or attorneys whose practice involves real estate mortgage lending
  • Reporting to the Board of Regents thereon and to make recommendations to the Board of Regents as to what positions, if any, the College should take with respect to any such proposed legislation or regulation
  • Implementing resolutions of the Board of Regents directing that concerned legislative and regulatory bodies be informed of the College's positions on such matters
  • When the Board of Regents authorizes the engagement of counsel or a legislative advocate to represent the interests of the College in any such matters, to make recommendations of the selection and act as liaison to the counsel or legislative advocate for the College and its Board of Regents
