Mortgage Law Summary

ACMA's Mortgage Law Summary is an essential tool for anyone engaged in mortgage transactions in states or provinces beyond the borders of their primary place of business. Published every two years, the publication provides a summary of current state and provincial laws on topics such as forms of security instruments used; recording requirements; statutes to be waived; usual treatment of standard provisions; future advances; usury; guaranties; foreclosures; statutes of limitation; requirements for releases of lien, mortgage, documentary, and transfer taxes, homestead issues; choice of law; receivership; labor and materialmen's liens; and title insurance.

The 2017-18 edition contains mortgage laws for the United States as well as Puerto Rico and all of the Canadian provinces--making this publication even more indispensable!

Note: The Mortgage Law Summary is not a substitute for local counsel and since laws change constantly and unpredictably, one should always seek a licensed attorney within the applicable state or province for current advice. Cost: $100 Members; $200 Non-Members.

The 2017/18 edition of the Mortgage Law Summary will be released in late October or early November 2017. To pre-order, select the "Order Now" button above. Note: ACMA Fellows receive one complimentary copy.
